About Printronix
Printronix is a United States manufacturer of line matrix printers, first established in 1974 by Robert A. Kleist and his partners. Their initial operations took place in a garage in Playa Del Rey, California, and it was at this time that they began the development and production of their first line printer series. After the company was incorporated, they found success with the debut of the personal computer. During the 1980’s and 1990’s, Printronix began to expand their operations internationally, establishing facilities in Europe, the Middle-East, Africa, and Asia. In 2008, Printronix was acquired by Vector Capital, becoming a private company a year later. In 2013, Vector Capital was acquired by Corona Investments, who currently maintains ownership over Printronix.
